American Highway Products Ltd., founded in 1978 and based in Bolivar, Ohio, manufactures American-made steel highway infrastructure products used during road resurfacing and paving operations. Their flagship product, the Pivoted Turnbuckle Manhole Riser, is an expanding riser available in heights from 3/4 inch upward in 1/4-inch increments, designed to bring manhole frames up to new pavement grade quickly. The company also produces catch basin and inlet risers custom-designed to bring drainage grates flush with new road surfaces, patented valve box risers for gas and water valve boxes (covered by Spring Compression Patent No. 4225266), inclined manhole risers that adjust both height and angle to match road crown, and manhole safety ramps providing a smooth gradient over exposed manholes during construction. Additional products include the I.D. Locator, which adheres to utility covers and pops up through up to 5 inches of fresh asphalt to mark buried lids, and the EZ-Lift for safely removing concealed pick-hole utility lids. The Flex-O-Ring rubber adjusting ring reduces traffic vibration transmission into substructures and limits water infiltration at the frame-chimney interface. Sewer lid seal kits provide gaskets between lids and castings to eliminate vibration and reduce moisture penetration. All products are manufactured from steel at the Bolivar facility and sold to municipalities, state DOTs, and paving contractors.
