Allonnia
About
Allonnia is a Boston, Massachusetts-based bio-ingenuity company that develops and deploys biological solutions for persistent environmental contaminants, with a primary focus on PFAS remediation and critical mineral recovery. Headquartered at 6 Tide Street, Suite 300, the company operates across three technical pillars: environmental bioinformatics for solution discovery, transformative biology for design, and integrated systems for commercial deployment. Allonnia's flagship SAFF (Surface Active Foam Fractionation) technology, invented by EPOC Enviro and distributed in North America by Allonnia, uses rising air bubbles to selectively separate and concentrate PFAS from contaminated water with greater than 99.9 percent removal for C6 and longer chains, achieving concentration factors up to one million to one. SAFF is available in three containerized models: the SAFF40 (up to 100 GPM), SAFF20 (up to 50 GPM), and SAFF10 (up to 14 GPM). The companion Foam Fractionation Booster enhances short-chain PFAS removal in groundwater and landfill leachate. In the mining sector, D-Solve is a bolt-on biological process that dissolves gangue minerals to boost nickel, copper, and lithium concentrate grades by up to 20 percent while reducing tailings volume. RE-Cover uses protein-functionalized biosolutions to selectively capture and purify rare earth elements from mine-impacted waters at over 90 percent recovery. Allonnia has raised over $20 million in Series A funding and partners with Ginkgo Bioworks, Battelle, UCLA, Rio Tinto, and BHP.
