Aeration Industries International
About
Aeration Industries International, originally founded in 1974 in Chaska, Minnesota, pioneered surface aspirator aeration technology for wastewater treatment under the AIRE-O2 trademark, with over 60,000 units deployed across more than 92 countries. The company was acquired by Newterra (Brockville, Ontario) in March 2018 and now operates as the AIRE-O2 brand within the Newterra portfolio, combining decades of aeration expertise with Newterra's broader water treatment capabilities. The AIRE-O2 product lineup includes the Aire-O2 Standard Aspirator for anti-fouling aeration with improved BOD and suspended solids removal; the Aire-O2 Triton 2.0 Process Aerator and Mixer, described as the brand's flagship dual-function aerator/mixer offering improved efficiency, power savings, and easier maintenance; the Aire-O2 HALO Surface Aerator designed to maximize oxygen transfer and mixing; the HURRICANE Submersible Aerator/Mixer for cost-effective treatment; the TORNADO Aspirator for diverse water bodies; the TWISTER Low-Speed Aerator for continuous long-term operation with high oxygen-transfer rates; the RIPTIDE Surface Mixer with direct-drive technology; and the Aire-O2 Surface Mixer 2.0 with above-surface float or fixed mounting options. Process systems include the Tri-Oval Oxidation Ditch (subsurface complete-mix looped reactor for biological nutrient removal), the Argos Sequencing Batch Reactor (true-batch SBR powered by the Triton 2.0), and the Aire-O2 Microfloat DAF System for dispersed air flotation pretreatment.
