Adwest Technologies, founded in 1988 in Fullerton, California (now part of CECO Environmental since 2012), is a global manufacturer of thermal and catalytic oxidizer systems with over 1,200 installations worldwide for destroying volatile organic compounds, hazardous air pollutants, odors, and acid gas streams. The company's flagship product line is the RETOX Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, offered in dual-chamber and multi-chamber configurations handling air flows from 100 SCFM to over 100,000 SCFM, achieving 95 to 97 percent primary heat recovery and Destruction Rate Efficiency above 99 percent. RETOX units feature Adwest's proprietary zero-leakage poppet valve design with an approximate 8-hour change-out time and 5-year warranty, and pioneered flameless natural gas injection operation that eliminates NOx formation during oxidation, an industry first for compact electric RTOs. Construction materials range from standard stainless steel through duplex alloys up to C2076 Hastelloy and titanium for aggressive halogenated streams. Beyond the RETOX platform, Adwest offers Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizers (DFTO) for higher-concentration VOC streams from 1,000 to over 60,000 SCFM, Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizers (RCO) operating at reduced temperatures, VOC Concentrators that adsorb and concentrate dilute VOC streams onto rotating media wheels before desorption to a smaller oxidizer, and specialized halogenated RETOX RTOs paired with acid gas scrubber packages for chlorinated and fluorinated compounds. All systems are controlled by Adwest's proprietary PLC system with ethernet data logging and online telemetry diagnostics.
