ADA Carbon Solutions (ACS), now operating under parent company Arq, Inc. (formerly Advanced Emissions Solutions/ADES), is North America's only vertically integrated producer of activated carbon products, headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado. ACS operates the largest automated powdered activated carbon manufacturing facility in North America at Red River Parish, Louisiana, and owns the Five Forks lignite coal mine supplying their raw material, plus a custom processing facility in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Their branded water treatment products include CarbPure® GAC (granular activated carbon meeting industry standards for contaminant capture in water treatment) and CarbPure® PAC (powdered activated carbon enhancing treatment effectiveness in the potable water sector). For air emissions control, they produce PowerPAC® and FastPAC® powdered carbons and M-Prove™ and RESPond» additives for mercury compliance under EPA MATS. Remediation products include FluxSorb™ RG (granular), FluxSorb™ RP (powdered), and patent-pending FluxSorb™ RC colloidal carbon. The company also produces Arq Powder™ Wetcake for asphalt applications. The 2023 rebrand from ADA Carbon Solutions to Arq reflects diversification beyond traditional activated carbon into broader environmental technology targeting cleaner water, air, and soil, while maintaining their position as the dominant domestic PAC producer.
