Acuva Technologies
About
Acuva Technologies, founded in 2014 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, developed UV-LED water disinfection systems using mercury-free semiconductor technology before its intellectual property portfolio was acquired by Watersprint AB in late 2024. The company's core innovation, IntenseBeam Technology, combines UVC LEDs with optical lensing to deliver focused, high-intensity ultraviolet light for inactivation of viruses and bacteria without mercury lamps or chemical addition. Acuva launched its first UVC-LED water treatment system in the US market in 2016 and expanded distribution to over 20 countries across residential, recreational, commercial, and remote applications. The product lineup includes the ArrowMAX Home 10K point-of-use system for residential drinking water, the ArrowMAX Explore 2 designed for boats and RVs, and the Strike modular OEM integration platform for manufacturers incorporating UV-LED disinfection into their own equipment. The original website at acuva.com now hosts an unrelated technology news aggregator and is no longer affiliated with the water purification company. Current product information and support are available through Watersprint's website at watersprint.com, with regional offices in Sweden, Canada, and the United States. Acuva's systems are designed to be compact, maintenance-free alternatives to traditional mercury-vapor UV lamps, targeting point-of-entry and point-of-use disinfection applications.
