ABS USA, headquartered in Meriden, Connecticut, is the North American subsidiary of ABS, a globally recognized wastewater equipment brand now operating under Sulzer Ltd. With over a century of wastewater industry experience, ABS has served the North American market since 1970, offering submersible sewage pumps, mixers, agitators, aerators, turbocompressors, and control systems. The flagship EffeX range, introduced in 2009, centers on premium-efficiency IE3 motors across all product lines. The XFP submersible sewage pump serves as the platform cornerstone, available from 2.7 to 830 hp with capacities up to 39,600 USgpm, featuring ContraBlock Plus and ContraBlock Evo impellers for rag-heavy flows, vortex impellers for gas-laden conditions, and chopper configurations for cutting fibrous waste. A stainless steel XFP SX variant handles corrosive environments. Supporting products include the XRW submersible mixer series with permanent-magnet and IE3 motor options, XSB flow boosters with composite blade propellers reducing energy consumption up to 25%, and XTA/XTAK self-aspirating aerators combining aeration, mixing, and pumping with oxygen transfer rates up to 176 lbs O₂/h. The HST turbocompressor line uses magnetic bearings and permanent-magnet motors for high-efficiency aeration. ABS also produces the Piranha grinder pump, Robusta drainage pump, AFLX mixed-flow pump, VUPX propeller pump, PC 441 pump controller, and CA 462 protection relay.
