ABEL GmbH, operating as Abel Pumps L.P. in the United States and headquartered in Buchen, Germany, is a manufacturer of diaphragm and piston diaphragm pumps and a subsidiary of IDEX Corporation. Their product line includes six pump series tailored for demanding sludge and slurry applications. The EM series is an electric double-diaphragm pump (EODD) delivering up to 40 cubic meters per hour at 0.6 MPa, designed for sludge transfer and filter press feeding with the ability to run dry indefinitely. The CM series is a compact piston diaphragm pump reaching 215 cubic meters per hour at 6.4 MPa, featuring an integrated CPR valve that mechanically reduces flow as pressure increases during filter press feeding without requiring a VFD. The HM piston diaphragm pump series comes in three configurations — the HMD (double-acting, 90 cubic meters per hour at 10 MPa), HMT (single-acting triplex, 210 cubic meters per hour at 25 MPa), and HMQ (quadruple-acting, 410 cubic meters per hour at 25 MPa) — achieving mechanical efficiencies over 90 percent with complete separation of the pumped medium from the hydraulic section. The HP and HPT high-pressure triplex plunger pumps handle clean and slightly contaminated fluids up to 25 MPa for filter cloth washing, gland seal water supply, and reverse osmosis applications. The SH series is a hydraulic-driven solids pump handling up to 80 percent solids content at 16 MPa, while the new SDS series combines progressive cavity feed with piston diaphragm pressure boosting for dewatered sludge up to 30 percent solids. All models are available with ATEX certification and are supported by the Smart Pump Assistant for AI-driven predictive maintenance.
